Ken Walter, Trumpet, is a graduate of Yale University, where he studied with Robert Nagel, founding member of the New York Brass Quintet. While at Yale, he was both Principal Trumpet in the Yale Symphony Orchestra and Solo Cornet with the Yale University Concert Band. Ken played solo cornet with the San Jose Municipal Band for twelve years and principal trumpet in the Opera San Jose Orchestra for a decade. He has performed with many other professional ensembles, including the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, the San Jose Symphony Orchestra, and the Oakland Symphony, and was a featured cornet soloist with the Allentown Band, the oldest civilian professional band in the country. In the pop world, he has accompanied Bob Hope, Mickey Rooney, the Smothers Brothers, and Danny Thomas. Ken is currently principal cornet in the Ohlone Wind Orchestra and solo cornet in the Mission Peak Brass Band.
