Joel White, Tuba, fell in love with the tuba’s sound back in high school, and hasn't forsaken it yet. He was born in Indiana, and has lived all over the US. He played in the Second City Brass Quintet (Chicago), the Champaign (IL) Brass, and the University of Illinois Graduate Brass Quintet. He studied tuba with Harvey Phillips, Dan Perantoni, and Mickey Moore, and chamber music with Ronnie Romm (Canadian Brass). He earned a Bachelors in Music Education (Indiana University), and Masters and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Tuba Performance from the University of Illinois. He taught middle school band in Texas and Illinois. These days, he scrambles to find time to practice while being a stay-at-home dad raising his twin 2 year old daughters, Molly and Claire. Both tasks are difficult to accomplish!!!
